Where would you spend your eternity?
One of the most beautiful God-given gifts to humans is the ability to choose, and make our will and desires known. Humans are not like an android but a will-oriented creation that is confronted by the reality of exercising the right of will time and time again. We make diverse decisions about both little and big things, physical and spiritual things, from temporary matters to eternal matters. The choice on things that exclusively affect us or others. The choice we make today will determine our tomorrow and sometimes, one bad choice could damage a promising future and destroy a beautiful destiny. For example, take a young man who planned to go to university and become a surgeon but carelessly involved in a situation that made him to be charged with sexual assaults and was jailed for years, forfeiting all the privileges. Every man’s life runs on the wheels of choices that he makes each time and every day, and a wrong decision could also prevent or hinder us from making some good ones.
There are general decisions and personal ones, take for example the issue of eternal destiny of a man, it is exclusively personal, and no one can make that decision for another person no matter how close they are to each other. That then means going to heaven or hell is a choice of individual person. Please, choose wisely. Do not be deceived, for not everything that glitters is gold.
Example of Lot. And Lot lifted his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou come unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. Genesis 13:10-11
Lot was privileged to follow Abraham in the journey of faith but never really connected to the God of Abraham. He saw the mighty acts of God through Abraham’s faith but never embraced a lifestyle of faith. Serving God and walking in his will is a matter of choice, for God will never impose anything on anybody. We are to submit our heart, give our body and yield our soul to the Lord willingly. Lot chose by sight not by faith and took a land of destruction. He left empty handed and lost his wife in the process. What do you need to change or do differently?
Eternal truth has been presented to you for the salvation of your soul, and for your eternity with Jesus to be made possible. Those who reject the word of God shall be judged by the same word they rejected.
He that rejects me, and receives not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:48
The word of God is the TRUTH to live by, the only sure foundation to build your life on, unfailing, unfading, unchanging, and infallible, those who believe and embrace it shall live forever. For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. 2Corinthians 13:8. No matter what is going on in the world, the message of the kingdom remains the same. HOLINESS WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD. Hebrews 12:14.
Nevertheless, the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his. And, let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2Timothy 2:19.
There is an eternal choice that must be made.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.
Deuteronomy 30:19.
